Connecting Your Google Business Profile

How to connect Google Business Profile so Omnovo can monitor reviews, sync your listing, and reply on your behalf.

Last updated: 2026-04-29

Connecting Google Business Profile (GBP) is the single highest-leverage thing you can do during setup. It unlocks review monitoring, listing sync, and on Growth and Pro plans, AI-drafted review replies.

Why It Matters

Most of your future leads will Google your business name or “{your service} near me” and land on your Google Business Profile before they ever see your website. Reviews drive that decision. We watch GBP for new reviews around the clock and draft replies in your voice the moment they come in.

We also use your GBP data — categories, photos, hours, services — to enrich your Brand Bible and your website. Connecting GBP makes the rest of Omnovo work better.

How To Connect

You will see “Connect Google Business Profile” during the onboarding wizard (Step 5: Connect Providers). You can also do it any time from Settings → Integrations.

The Flow

  1. Click Connect Google Business Profile
  2. A Google sign-in window opens
  3. Pick the Google account that owns your listing
  4. Approve the requested permissions
  5. If you manage more than one location, pick the one you want to connect
  6. Done — the window closes and the dashboard shows it as connected

The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.

What We Ask Permission To Do

  • Read your reviews
  • Post replies to your reviews (only after you approve them, or after auto-publish is on)
  • Read your listing data (categories, hours, photos, services)
  • Post updates to your listing (only after you approve them)

We never ask for or store your Google password. The connection runs through Google’s official OAuth flow.

What If I Do Not Have A GBP Yet

If your business is not on Google yet, you have two options:

  1. Skip for now and create one later. Setup continues without it. You can connect once your listing is live.
  2. Create one first. Go to https://business.google.com, claim your business, complete verification (Google usually mails you a postcard with a code), then come back and connect.

If you go the second route, give Google 5–14 days for verification before circling back.

What If I Have Multiple Locations

On the Pro plan, you can connect up to 10 locations. During setup, you connect them one at a time. Each location gets its own listing sync, review monitoring, and reply drafts.

On Growth and Starter, the dashboard will let you connect one — your primary location.

Reconnecting After A Token Expires

Google occasionally invalidates OAuth tokens — usually after a password change or a long inactivity period. When that happens you get an account_reauth_required notification. The fix is the same flow: Settings → Integrations → Reconnect. Takes 30 seconds.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect any time from Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting stops review sync, stops reply publishing, and pauses listing updates. Your Brand Bible and website are not affected. We never delete reviews or listings on your Google account on disconnect.
